Who is "Grover" anyway? If I may ask.

I get a sickish feeling when I'm in record stores now. The nice things are way over priced, the staff is resentful, the music being played is usually bad, the new releases boring. I think when it became clear that 80% of the LP reissues in the bins are digital it took a lot of the value out of any p...

I actually tried to get a SOT vine going on at the Smile Shop, but nobody was interested. D'oh! :x Where have all the good times gone? Have you noticed that things have changed? I do think that most guys at a certain age give up the chase, bow out of the run, and quit looking or listening. Some val...

I mentioned it to SH. He didn't know if it would be kosher or not (that's a story in and of itself). I never bothered to test the waters. Why would it not be kool for that experience to be posted at SH site? Is there politics and deep rooted business relationships all over ebay as well as the sad s...

Oh, not that I would buy from that jerk again, but this is the cart with that black stylus. I managed to drop this 18.00 needle into the AT 8008 for another lease on life. You might want to grab one from Garage-a-Records, and use that 8008 with it for those lesser condition records. http://cgi.ebay....

I bought one of those Audio Technica 8008, or one of the 8000 series from Ed S. on ebay. The Studio Reference series I think it says on the card in the plastic box. That was a few years ago. It was something like 49.99 "buy it now". Six months later, I emailed him directly for price of rep...

well, there's a huge sloppy blowjob of an article about his climb back to artistic respectability in the 90's, along with a sidebar calling the new one a meisterwerk, in the most recent MOJO to reach the states (w/SydBarrett on the cover) I love TIME OUT OF MIND but LOVE AND THEFT didn't grow on me...

I got tired of snail-mail trades recently, after around the hundredth time of getting something with EAC errors, or--worse--something that was clearly from a lossy source. I was lucky in that I got mostly all great perfect discs. At some point a few years ago I was hearing lossy mp3 artifacts on a ...

I can see how that would be cool n' fun. How many titles can fit on a DVD-R in one amazing pop!

BTW, it is relatively easy to create a PAL DVD that will play on nearly any "NTSC-only" player. Just download a free copy of IFO Edit and manually change all of the PAL flags to NTSC flags. It works like a charm. Really...I've read it does not work with consistancy. Not so easy as 1 2 3.

I'm not expecting much. I also do not like Bob's live singing in recent years. Love and Theft was not all that great. The vocals were processed to sound smoother, and it sucked the life out of them imho. That made it hard for me to listen to the entire album. That said, I am a very big fan, and alwa...

I'm really looking forward to this. I think the album is still somewhat somewhat underrated. Hopefully this won't get the usual Abbey Rd treatment. In any event it's a must buy for the DVD.. I had the cassette when I was 13 years old. Really tough going for a kid into Schools Out, Made in Japan, an...

Most of those were torrented over at Demonoid *really* recently. I have a few odds and ends. I think everything has been torrented at some point. Many still are, but I never got into that. I simply did the snail mail trades. Nothing like opening yer po box and seeing a couple of thick packets of CD...

This POS Cyberhome that I'm using is absolutely unbearable. Which Cyberhome? We've got one of the "mini" $35 ones from Best Buy (from a year or two ago), and I've never had an issue with it, other than the remote being a bit annoying. No idea if it does PAL or not, though. The 300. Honest...

Ok, I found the master index for my collection, and I do seem to have a few of the good ones, but I may be missing something good still. Here is the quick rundown: Beach Boys, The - Concert Rehearsals and More 1966-1968 27 tracks, 60m. A+/SB Beach Boys, The - Heroes and Vibrations Beach Boys, The - ...
