Not sure if I've heard that, but I know there was a My Wife remix that had the standard Who stereo spread (unlike the broadcast and what's up on WV).

Re: The Who - Philly '73

I thought that what WGV has up is newer master mixes done in anticipation of a full on CD release. And once that fell through, they had those mixes, and were (sort of) legally clear to stream them on the site under the KBFH agreement. No, they are definitely vintage mixes. Basically the same bizarr...

Re: The Who - Philly '73

Obviously a different mix from the multis. But the biggest difference if the quality of the mix. The Original KB (earlier) mix is just horrid. I almost regret posting the link to yet another transfer of it. Another reason I'd say the WGV material is a different animal is the different show offered....

Why? I wouldn't expect it to be. I mean...it *is* different, but it is unclear why it would be.

Re: The Who - Philly '73

Comparing that pre-FM source to what's on Wolfgang's Vault now. It seems to either be a totally different mix, or perhaps a matrixed quad. For instance, while the drums and guitar seem to come from roughly the same places in the stereo spread on both versions, Pete's vocal comes from the left on the...

I still need 1st gen on Sea and Sand, and those few rarer tracks.

Re: Jackson 5 - ABC - multitracks!!!

I have not sat down with it and brought them all up on the board for my own amusement yet. Are you saying that each track seems to have a L or R mate to it, so each track is one part of a stereo track? No. Instead of a bunch of mono FLACs, they are all stereo, with the same content in both channels...

Re: Jackson 5 - ABC - multitracks!!!

Grabbed it. A few weird things: - All of the files are stereo files, for some reason. - The first two tracks are a final mix...the final mono mix I guess. - The Jermaine track is strange. It's mostly silent (with some hiss and faint bleed elsewhere), but during the punch-ins it has not only the Jerm...

Re: The Who Life & Quadrophenia Demos

Also surfaced for DL at the D. Is this just reconfigured Scoop 1 & 2? Assuming it hasn't been "remastered", this has been around for years. http://www.thewho.net/bootlegs/cds/lifehouseandquad.html Lots of errors in the notes, especially "Love Ain't For Keeping appears on the reis...

Re: The Who - Who's Next Sessions

Thanks Luke for the overview and your quick first impressions. I guess the alt. cover art (must be lifted from the Ethan Russell book, I need to go look) is about the best thing going on here? I'm too lazy to go look, but I'm pretty sure the photo itself is in the Deluxe Edition. It isn't clear if ...

Re: The Who - Who's Next Sessions

I think the Record Plant stuff is mostly the same as on From Lifehouse To Leeds. Although there are a couple of alt mixes. Pure & Easy, Won't Get Fooled Again and the shorter Getting In Tune are definitely alternate mixes, as is the LAFK noted as being an alternate. Perhaps rough mixes done by ...

Re: The Who - Who's Next Sessions

Not sure how much of this is already out on DE or older bootlegs, etc. But the artwork is nice! I think the Record Plant stuff is mostly the same as on From Lifehouse To Leeds. Although there are a couple of alt mixes. Odd...Bargain is an (overloaded) alt mix, but it isn't the mix with single-track...

That's all any click removal software should do. If it is modifying other parts of the file it isn't written well.

I prefer it. No limiting or NR (the NR is a bit bothersome in places), and the EQ (or lack thereof) isn't quite as hyped.

Re: New Who Japanese mini-LPs

A Quick One -- issue DE mirroring the content of the Japanese box set If nothing else, at least fix the problems in Batman, Bucket T and Disguises (all stereo). Live At Leeds -- remaster DE to be listenable Somehow I don't see that happening... Who's Next -- current DE is fine Maybe sub in the SACD...
