Re: Mark Linett on Pet Sounds

I think the DCC is the best presentation of the mono mix but then I also enjoy the dreded stereo remix so what do I know? In my opinion, the stereo remix is not bad at all! These mixes are Linett's best work. They are unfaithful, but that is okay since they are not intended to replace the mono mixe...

There is also a thread on SH.tv where Squalldog has confronted Steve with Linett's statements. Steve reacted very statesman-like. Why would Steve lie about the flat transfer? What has he to win? He could have said that the master tape needs a little mastering work for the bass and that is why the DC...

Also, The Who Collection and The Singles have the same mix of "5:15", which is (correct me if I am wrong) the 1979 single version, edited from the Quadrophenia soundtrack remix.

What mix is on "Who's Greatest Hits"? I have that CD, but haven't listened to it in years. What about Hooligans?

The Who Collection has the same version as described...5 minutes long, and "fuck" uncencsored.

Err....are there any original Polydor CDs that are different from the MCA's? Okay: A Quick One (it was a different album in the US than in the UK; UK is completely in mono) Sell Out (UK does not have "track records") Who's Next (Polydor has fade-in for Baba O'Riley; of course there is also Steve's m...

It sounds good but there's an assload of dropouts. There's a big long one in "Naked Eye", during the "milk & honey" part. The tape for this must be in bad shape. But that's not the fault of the CD. Check out Naked Eye on the Odds & Sods remaster for a laugh. It has no hiss. And no, it is no...

This CD sounds spectacular, in my opinion. (I only have the Polydor variant.)

SO, if I have the CD Image in a directory and the cue sheet (automatically generated by EAC) as well, and if I enter the flags manually in the cue sheet, will CDRWin6 (the demo version) use the information in the cue sheet automatically and correctly? Because I see no option how to choose the cue sh...

Matt,

I will try CDRWin! That sounds like the solution. Thanks a lot!
