Those that have recieved their copies have reported that "Baby Don't Do It" is the same edited version that appears on the b-side single. It appears we can thank Jon Astley for the crappy tracklist.. How is Baby Don't You Do It edited? I'm not sure but I'm told the bootleg versions of the...

Re: The Who - View From A Backstage Pass

Does this not feel a bit short to anybody? I thought so at first but it looks like each disc will be close to 80 mins. I massively dissapointed in disc 2. I can't beleive they picked the Charlton Young Man Blues and My Generation. Fuck that. The Charlton Young Man Blues is easily the worst version ...

Well I'll be damned. Andreas and I thought the new reissue was the worst of the bunch. I still stand by that for that one track. It really does sound dull. So dull that the snare is just lost. FWIW I listened to it on the main rig which includes Paradigm Studio Reference 100's. I did a quick compari...

FWIW, it's considered gospel that Lifehouse was supposed to end with Song Is Over. And Long Live Rock wasn't part of it, so far as I know (it was the germ of Quad, IIRC). Ryan Yep, Long Live Rock wasn't recorded until '72, well after Who's Next was released. Speaking of, has anyone heard any Moon e...

So who is going to pony up the $50 to get the upcoming 2CD Moon era live set? I'm waiting to see the tracklist. If it has a healthy portion of San Fran '71 then I'm in. I'd also love some tracks from Hull, Oval '71 (which was multitracked) and Philly '73..

Anyone know if the Who's version of Mary was recorded at the Record Plan in NYC or was it recorded in London with Glyn Johns? Astley (I think it was Astley) said the Who version on Mary "was on a disintegrating tape" or something similar. Not sure I believe that..

Well there's the full take 2 rough mix of Interstellar which arguably could have been used instead of the French EP version, and a rough mix of Chapter 24 which may or may not be much different than the final mix. Then there are some multitracks for Arnold Layne, Candy, Matilda Mother and Paintbox....

The founder, or one of the founders, of the site shut it down. There was some sort of drama about a "secret forum" that was invite only. Ian from the Smile Shop is starting his own board. Did you post there? If so what was your user name?

There is some talk on sh.tv about Third/Sister Lovers and a couple of posters maintain that the PVC CD is a different mix. Other than a couple of short bits of studio chatter not heard any where else the mixes sounded the same to when I listened to it awhile back. Has anyone heard any differences in...

I've got a fever for that new Lennon POB outtakes set. I wish someone would put together a set that has all of the POB outtakes. What other discs would I need to put together such a set? The Pegboy Dream Is Over, the official Lennon Anthology, what else?
