You ever wanna see the cesspool of humanity, check out any of the Yahoo forums accompanying any news story. Any story - doesn't matter - it will inevitably contain the dumbest, most racist and offensive comments you're bound to hear regarding any issue. What's almost funnier/more pathetic are those ...

Having realized that I have about 40 Gigs of jazz mp3s off of emusic alone, I now need to get a dedicated player (rather than burning everything on CDRs). And since I have a few hundred bucks worth of Best Buy credit courtesy of an Xmas bonus, I'm trying to decide between an Ipod (20 GB) or a Zen (p...

Krab, I envy your ability to withstand the pain of banging your head into the wall as much as you must do. Hilarious thread that!

Jeez, from the thread title I thought you meant that they really dropped the "I" and were gonna call it the 'nternet or something post-modern like that. You know, like *NSYNC or Fitty Cen'.

I've always seen IBM's open architecture as the reason it has flourished while Apple has struggled (relatively speaking). I initially was a Mac guy (when they were first dumped on colleges in the early 80s), but once I realized how inflexible they were in the early days compared to the IBMs, I beca...

Christ, that's the most boring test I've ever heard. I can't imagine that was fun. I'm gonna have to apologize to my wife for making her listen to two (and only two) pairs of speakers when i was A-B'ing them a few years back. I never realized the pain she must have endured... My favorite line: Some ...

I gotta say - and to tie this into the 70's music thread - I think my favorite track so far is their cover of "Seasons in the Sun" at the end of the DVD. Quite poignant in that context.

Man, I'll have to listen again at home (for whatever reason, I'm not able to hear the files at work). But on my computer speakers A sounded nothing like C, and C sounded covered in reverb. Weird... :?:

Gobs of reverb on "C." Actually not bad, though. First time I've heard anything from the Capitol box.

Agreed. This is gonna be a 60+ CD set, and not at bargain prices either. I would suspect - hope? - that by archiving the label in such a way that it will open up the possibility of artist comps and smaller box sets. It's gonna be kinda funny seeing all those who have been clamoring for such a box se...

Glad to hear that they didn't ruin the tapes further. I may have to get this after all, just to hear what the American versions sounded like, but I just can't get too excited over this. Reading the long review thread at SHTV is like watching some huge musical circle jerk. Aside from a small handful ...

Let's not blame the FCC for this... yet. Wildmon and his conservative cronies threatened to file complaints (and did) and some ABC affiliates backed down from playing Ryan because of fears of being fined - well, that fear's legitimate because the FCC has been rather, uh, inconsistent lately. I don't...

Wow, wouldn't that be a kick in the pants now that the media has expended all this effort telling us the sociopolitical reasons behind W's "mandate." I dunno about any "mandate," but he still won the popular vote for what that's worth - I don't think any fraud could be that big. Still, I'd gladly t...

This went around back in 2000 as well. It's been debunked - though I've yet to find "real" stats about average IQ by state.

Still, there does seem to be some truth to it. After all, I keep hearing about all the idiots who voted for Bush...
