Re: Undoing the damage

Bush's oval office speech were he said the government was going to select which stem cell lines would be allowed was one of the most revolting things I've ever witnessed. It was a total give away to the religous-right.

Re: The 2012 Republican Nominee?

Who should be the 2012 Repub nominee?? I don't care since I'm voting Libertarian as usual.

Both sides are just corporate stooges anyways, bought and paid for.

Re: The 2012 Republican Nominee?

It's the white people, stupid. Can somebody point out to me who has called Obama "the chosen one", "the messiah", or "an African god"? Well Obama did say something like "WE are who you've been waiting for..." which I took to mean he sees himself as the Libera...

Re: Boomer history ends on September 9 (Beatles remasters)

I know it's a tangent to the remasters but some clips from Rock Band are on Youtube:

On "Birthday" the stereo mix is similar to the original mix except there's a very slight opening up of the music track.

Well I would say mixing the rhythm track center and the vocals split left/right would be pretty good! :D

Re: Boomer history ends on September 9 (Beatles remasters)

Hated by most Beatards like us. I like a few of the 1987 remixes though. The original 1965 mixes generally are terds to start with. George Martin thought so also and modified them BUT dicked them up in a new way with the cold swampy metallic digital reverb, weird EQ, and harsh vocals. Pick your pois...

Re: Boomer history ends on September 9 (Beatles remasters)

I get a funny feeling about Help & Rubber Soul and the way they have been referenced. Surely Jeff Jones and the remix crew KNOWS the 1987 remixes are generally hated and do not belong in the legitimate canon. If they are trying to do the catalog "right" and with respect (which they see...

Here's my edit of the extra trumpet onto the regular stereo mix: http://users3.ev1.net/~lancehall/beatles/pennylanetrumpetend.mp3 Taken from A2, OOPS'd? Yes. The trumpet isolates quite nicely. Actually, to sound more like the promo mix you'd have to make the end trumpet bit really prominent with lo...

So I guess I'm just old and stupid, but I can't seem to find the DA version of Help that's out there on usenet. Can someone help me with searching it out: ie, what group's it on, the date it was posted, what's in the header? I'm apparently too feeble to find it myself. I couldn't see it at first ei...

Re: Yellow Sub Songtrack mixes... I think they cheated some and would copy bits of vocals from other similar points in the song and paste them in to get a better separation. I did the same thing with the intro vocal bit on my Beatles "From Me To You" remix. I copied the 2nd half of the int...
