It's all "frontrunneritis" from now on. The press has crowned Kerry and the voters will vote accordingly. But who cares. Unless he steps on his dick he's well positioned to defeat Bush in November.

There may not be a damn thing that can be done about outsourcing jobs, but in an election year--particularly this one where many people are apprehensive about their jobs--supporting Mankiw's report may be political suicide for the Bush team. Goodie.

From the NY Times 2/9: "But when [Pakistan President] Musharraf struck a deal with Khan--a televised apology that absolved the government, in return for a full pardon--the White House applauded Musharraf. When Musharraf dismissed calls that he investigate the military's role [in selling nuclear tech...

President Reagan, during the "debates" prior to his second term in office, went off for what seemed like twenty minutes on some prepared story whose details all randomly bled together--I mean the damn thing made absolutely no sense at all--and it was very clear that the man, if not entirely deranged...

Re: Bush Handpicks Russert for Sunday Interview

James Carville, the former Clinton adviser, said that "the president is having a hard time breaking through. The Mars thing was a dud. The State of the Union was a dud. I must have missed that. I thought it was a strong performance that would've resonated with all but the Bush-loathing voters. That...

So it's the economy that's hurting Bush. And if economy were stronger, Bush's numbers would be up--in spite of all his administration has done in the past three years? Very narrow/shallow thinking if you ask me.

It's cognitive dissonance on a national scale. Most people think he's a Great Patriotic Leader because they can't stomach the alternative -- that not only did we get brutally attacked, but that Bush snuck a totally unrelated foreign policy-driven pre-emptive war in under the pretense that it was re...

Colin Powell Sucks Dick

Monday, to the Washington Post, he said that the absence of weapons stockpiles "changes the political calculus" about whether to go to war. Tuesday, after a briefing with the White House, he said, "The bottom line is this: The president made the right decision." But even without his flip-flop, one w...

Regarding the tax cuts, this is either off topic--or on target w/ respect to this conversation--but I still can't figure out why a majority of Americans would think those tax cuts were so great in the first place. The vast majority [70-80% or more?] got peanuts while the very rich got bundles. Have ...

The downside of this machine is that it is ONLY serviced in Japan (even though they have a sales agent in the U.S). Therefore, whenever it needs adjustment (supposedly every 5 years or so -- I've had mine for 2 years), you have to pay several hundred dollars to ship it back to Japan. I keep nagging...

Did I say that? I have a tubed amp. And think it's so wonderful [really] that not having one is kinda like using a dial-up modem for the Net. I'm a snob. I'm also an audiophile wannabe.
