Re: Boomer history ends on September 9 (Beatles remasters)
Stereo box in flac: http://tinyurl.com/mdxyu5 Any comments so far? They sound good to me, no question that they are more detailed. The earlier albums seem to surprise me more. Jumping around on Please Please Me from the stereo set and I am actually sort of underwhelmed by it. The same tracks, IMHO,...

Re: Future Who Deluxe editions?
For what it's worth, thewho.com is now free to access. There's a Q&A blog post Pete did a while back where he says that he's bored with doing reissues, and stopped partway through the 5.1 Quadrophenia DE because he lost interest. Moot point, anyway, because there's no surround formats left to i...

Fixed.
Thanks!
I had to laugh at Cheney in the wheelchair. He looked like the "other" Jeff Lebowski.

Re: Do you use Vista or are you sticking with XP for now?
The word on the developer's beta for the next version of Windows is pretty positive as well. It's speedy and some of the more intrusive features (such as the User Account Control) have been tweaked for the better. One article I read said that while things look good now, the same things were said abo...

Re: Do you use Vista or are you sticking with XP for now?
I think that Final Cut Pro is so wrapped up in the "Suite 2" of products including Quicktime, etc. that the files are just not made for Windows OS, even if you got FCP up and running. What the hack does is allow you to boot up OS X on any Intel PC, not run OS X apps under Windows. The big...

Re: Do you use Vista or are you sticking with XP for now?
Anybody ever been courageous enough to try this? http://dailyapps.net/2007/10/hack-attack-install-leopard-on-your-pc-in-3-easy-steps/ I won't be trying it any time soon, but I love the ideas that people are coming up with. I mean pretty soon someone will come up with a way to play an SACD on a DVD-...

Re: No stereo sound on homemade DVDs made with Nero
Funny you should mention this as I revisited this issue today! Before one of my hard drive re-images, I was able to burn a DVD with stereo audio (this was Nero 7), but I recall the DVD player displaying something weird about the audio. Then the Vista world caved in and I didn't get another chance to...

Re: Do you use Vista or are you sticking with XP for now?
I also hate all the "security" measures like the account user control (which I gladly disabled) and the fact that even when you shut automatic updates off, it seems like Vista ignores your request and keeps them on anyway. When I googled the problem, it seems that most people have the opp...

Re: Do you use Vista or are you sticking with XP for now?
Another interesting thing I noticed, playing with iTunes 8 on a Mac at the Apple Store last night was an eye opening experience to say the least. iTunes 8 on Vista is freaking horrible. It hangs a lot and seems to take forever to run a search in the store. Can anyone tell me if iTunes 8 is crap on XP?

Re: Do you use Vista or are you sticking with XP for now?
I am currently using Vista for now. Having said that though, I have had to reinstall Vista *3* times already since I got the computer in August. I am not doing this for the sake of doing it as I try to debug the issues myself, but it just seems that as opposed to either XP, 98 or even ME for that ma...

Re: You Tube Issues
I went ahead and update all my plug-ins and at first it looked like things were good but then Firefox crashed again. Here's the odd thing, I logged into the PC under my wife's profile and You Tube works fine in her Firefox. There is nothing different between the two profiles as far as I can tell. D...

Re: You Tube Issues
Is anyone else that uses either Firefox or Safari (Windows based) having issues with You Tube? I can watch maybe a clip or two before the browser closes due to an "error." However, the problem seems to be non-existent when I use Internet Explorer. I am using the most recent versions of Fi...
