It wasn't in the set I recieved from you either (mid 2006? ). I can't lay my hands on the actual RCA disc right now (all the others you sent me are in their rightful place in my disc folder  ), but there was only one version of Station to Station on the RCA disc, the very wonky sounding Japan ...

Found it. From this thread: http://forums.lukpac.org/viewtopic.php?t=1687 I have now made my first comparison of the Polydor WBWB against the MCA WBWB. General observation: The Polydor is a bit louder. Some tracks are from the same digital master. My Generation, Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere: From the sa...

Re: The Who - I Don't Even Know Myself

Is it correct that the common version (Rarities Vol. 1&2, Who's Missing) was the B-side of Won't Get Fooled Again? I know nothing of the alternate version, but the above is correct. I have the Track single; it's credited as "Don't Know Myself", and starts with a "3...4..." c...

Changesonebowie LP - mispress with alternate JIOD

I've just posted this at the other place, but thought you guys might be curious about this... I got a vinyl copy of Changesonebowie last week; and got a surprise when JIOD started up; it's an alternate version, known as the "sax" version apparently. Wikipedia says this was a mistake, and w...

Certainly when looking at your profile and member status next to your posts, there's nothing to say that you are banned. Have you cleared your internet cache? Maybe VBulletin screwed something up. Unlikely, but I've seen stranger things happen.

Here's the interview with GD in Sound On Sound magazine. He mentions the Elton CDs in the boxout at the bottom of the page. His opinon of the original CD's was less than complimentery.

More Keith Moon stuff: Keith, Old Grey Whistle Test, for "Two Sides Of The Moon", also discusses living in LA, etc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6vIwQ54Fvs Keith gives a guided tour of Shepperton Studions/Who Group. "Who Are You" gets a blink mention at the end of the clip. ht...

Title of thread mentioned "stereo" LP I am working from. And I'm a complete dunce. Thank you. Different segue between two key tracks is very strong pointer of a different mix imho. Except, it's more a case of "it goes from stereo to mono, then fails to segue". That seems to indi...

Eh? Glad I didn't attempt to join. Sounded a little too elitist from the outskirts.

That's automated egotisim (is that a word?) beyond all. What happens if you go on holiday FFS?

This is the first I've heard this is a different mix. While I do know that the segue between "Afterglow ...." and "Long Agos" doesn't seem to be intact on any stereo CD (my first issue Castle CD seems to edit into mono at the last round of the descending "riff", then fa...

Two things re POL: 1) The MCA WBWB doesn't have the crescendo, that's correct. It DOES however have an increase in distortion where the crescendo normally occurs. So it's definately the same mix, only someone corrected the crescendo (which always sounded to me rather like an accident ...) 2) I'm not...

Sensation was the last track on side 3. My mindset is stuck on keeping album sides on seperate reels, I guess. As usual, this doesn't prove that Tommy actually was on 4 reels of tape... any other way would be impossible though if they stuck to what seemed to be the most popular way; i.e. a reel bein...

Pinball Wizard: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=10F2B39A0DB44FAB The two masterings of Pinball Wizard are different in the same manner. Louder, more compressed and booming on Phil's sample, thinner and less bass/lower midrange but more dynamic on mine. Ah. Not liking ...
