Just saw LCD Soundsystem live last night in Portland. What a pathetic crowd with their "No Ads Here" sign waving in protest of the sponsorship from Sony Playstation. The next thing you know, these Puritans will demand that all musicians live in complete penury, and die in a pauper's grave. Umm, the ...

Stooges - Down On The Street, single edit, keyboard credit
So for us paupers who couldn't afford or obtain the Fun House Sessions box, the new re-issue is a god send. Question though: who does that Ray Manzarek impersonation on the single version of this? Is it Don Galluci himself? I've heard the album cut of this a million times, so when that keyboard kick...

I guess I usually go with the herd by reading AnandTech. Looks like MSI and DFI make a good NForce4 board for AMD 64. I highly recommend AMD, as you get far more punch for the $$$. Definitely the favored CPU for the DIYer. Not sure of all the permutations on the AMD 3200. Venice, Newcastle, and Winc...

Re: Hardened criminal Judith Miller finally put in jail
The funny part is, Miller isn’t exactly an enemy of the state. In the run-up to the war in Iraq, she wrote extensively about the WMDs that were subsequently never found. I shed no tears for Miller. She worked directly with Chalabi to trump up the claims of WMD. Some theorize that she's not really a...

Re: MoveOn.org TV Ad Urges Bush to Pull Troops From Iraq
"MoveOn's message of moderation and restraint is not only out of touch with the majority of Americans, but with many Democrats outside of Washington, who are dismayed that their party's agenda is controlled by the liberal elites like George Soros and Michael Moore," said Tracey Schmitt, the RNC's p...

Stretcher - I agree Sepultura would have been nice. I also like some of Max Cavalera's Soulfly stuff as well. The work of the brothers Cavalera just kills. I haven't gotten into Soulfly as much, but they are definitely worth revisiting. Unfortunately, Sepultura is the last metal band I've paid any ...

"Stankonia" higher ranked than "Aquemini"? No way. Oh, and they could have thrown a bone to Sepultura for either "Roots" or "Chaos A.D." When you need something to piss off your neighbors, that's what I immediately throw into changer. If you're going to have "New Day Rising", then you need "Double N...

Kat Killer Lies to Matt Lauer
Majority Leader Bill Frist this morning on the Today Show: LAUER: But when you stood on the floor and you said, She does respond, are you at all worried that you led some senators… FRIST: I never said, She responded. I said I reviewed the court videotapes – the same ones the other doctors reviewed –...

What's the EMI version? Is it an older version, or just the UK version from the same period? That's what I meant, yeah. Seriously, those Infinite Zeroes can be tough. If folks are dumping them, and they can be had for cheap, I'd get one. I'm not too impressed with how maximized the new reissue is. ...
