The one that circulates among collectors is taken from Japan Polydor CD, P33P-25023. Why is it called "safe-stereo" I do not know. :?

Actually it isn't. Spread Your Wings.. is from May 71, the one that's on the Vault is from June 70.

And there are voice-overs on some of those recordings, for instance The Allmans Winterland 73.

I only listened to the mp3's on my computer speakers so I don't know if this is worth anything...

2 and 6 sound the best to me, I'm guessing one of them is EH

1 is just bad, 3 runs too fast, 4 runs too slow (I think this is Gastwirt 93), 5 isn't good either

Just join JimiPassIton http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/JimiPassItOn/ I mean, why pay for a boot. The material that circulates in fan circles is in much better quality too. ATM-series is just great http://home.online.no/~hpjohnse/hendrix.html#underground So called McLaughlin sessions are really ...

Are all the tracks on Gastwirt same speed as on EH? I used to have the Gastwirt and I'm sure that at least some of the tracks - Foxy Lady springs to mind - ran slower than they were supposed to. My copy was european i.e. on Polydor.

New Morning - Bob's got a flu. Not crappy album but kind of lame. Street-Legal - many Bobcats (sorry couldn't resist  ) consider it a masterpiece. Count me in. Hard Rain - I ADORE this, easily his best live album before the Bootleg Series started. Real Live - Bob's shittiest band ever Dylan...

Self-Portrait's not that bad, IMO. Budokan does indeed suck. There was much better performances later on on the tour. Hopefully Bootleg Series will take care of those at some point. Now, if you really wanna hear a shit Dylan album try Dylan & the Dead. And yes, Down in the Groove isn't good eith...

I don't know if this is important but my More Hot Rocks hybrid (bought recently, in Europe) cover says printed in EU, discs however are "made in Japan".

Also, my 12 x 5 (inaugural edition) hasn't got cd-text (cd layer).

Funnily, Sony seems to be unaware that I was young when I left home has been previously released on limited edition of Love & Theft. So that makes three recycled tracks. Liner notes seem a bit rushed too.

I like it but of course it should have been a box set. 8)

Re: McCartney's Chaos & Creation: it sucks

Small tangent... Never had Dirty Work, had Steel Wheels on tape (!), got Voodoo Lounge when it was released, and never got BtB. I remember when VL came out it was hailed as being "back to basics" and "raw Stones" or somesuch. I finally got Steel Wheels on CD the other day, and I was really struck b...

Also, they will not ship to Europe. Then again, as I'm a credit cardless loser what do I care. Why can't they just release the whole show?

For some reason Mitch also replaced drums on Earth Blues. Indeed, Buddy's solid style suited much better. At least the Box has Earth Blues with Buddy. I wonder why they didn't use the version found on bootlegs. It has much better guitar parts and sounds the most finished version to me. And why wasn'...
